This workshop will explore the use of Treasure Baskets, Heuristic play and Open-Ended play and will support practitioners to identify the differences between each. How these play opportunities underpin the characteristics of effective teaching and learning will be discussed along with the impact on babies and young children’s learning and development.
After attending this course, you will be able to:
Define the terms Treasure Basket, Heuristic and Open-Ended Exploratory Play
Introduce natural materials which underpin the implementation of the Treasure Baskets,
Heuristic and Open-Ended Play
Use observations during these activities to plan further opportunities.
As well as having had the opportunity to reflect on your practice and receiving tailored guidance and support from an experienced Early Years and Childcare professional.
