A Guide to Mathematics – Development Wheel (DW8)

Learning about maths at an early age happens both indoors and outdoors. This unique tool covers babies' early awareness of shapes, space and measures offering ideas for everyday activities that will develop their sensory awareness and opportunities to observe objects and their movements from an early age. The wheel then builds through the age related sections to the last section covering four to five years of age when children are then counting and recognising some numerals.

This wheel was written by early years Maths specialist and author, Judith Stevens, to ensure that it will meet the needs of professionals and parents, carers and families.

The back sections of the wheel show how practitioners, teachers, parents and carers can help development through help and ideas based around numbers and shape, space and measures.

All the regular sized discs are approx. 230mm in diameter and are laminated for strength.
