SUE SMITH: EARLY YEARS AND CHILDCARE EQUALITY AND INCLUSION MANAGER
I graduated as a qualified teacher in 1981 with a B.Ed. (HONS) degree and then taught across the primary phase as a class teacher, SENCO, deputy head and acting head teacher in a variety of small rural and larger urban primary schools in Bedfordshire and Kent. Subsequently, I owned and managed a sessional, pack away pre-school for seven years before joining KCC Specialist Teaching Service as an Early Years SENCo. In 2010 I joined the Early Years and Childcare Service as a senior adviser, became the Area Lead for the Dartford and Gravesham districts and now manage the team of Equality and Inclusion advisers.
I have four grown up children who have kept me busy over the years. I enjoy visiting the theatre and watching Luton Town FC when time allows, and I love spending time with family and friends.
