Charlotte Thompson:
Equality and Inclusion Adviser

I qualified as a teacher in 1977 and worked as a class teacher, Head of First School and Key Stage 1 Leader across a range of Special and Primary schools in Dorset, Devon, Lincolnshire and Kent.

In 1990 I set up and ran my own Day Nursery, opening a second Nursery in 2002. During this time I worked as an Ofsted Inspector inspecting PVI settings across London and the South East.

In 2004 I joined the Specialist Teaching Service as an Early Years SENCo, supporting settings in East Kent. In 2010 I joined the Early Years and Childcare Service as an SEN Adviser before becoming an Equality and Inclusion Adviser in 2014.

I have two grown up children and enjoy cooking, walking and going to the gym as well.
