EFICL Wins Nursery World Award - a celebratory message from Alex Gamby

I’m writing to share some exciting news which we are very proud of:  our Enhancing Families Involvement in Children’s Learning (EFICL) Pathways to Excellence Toolkit has won a Nursery World 2016 Award in the Staff Resources Category.

As many of you are aware the EFICL Toolkit and Principles into Practice training supports practitioners in fostering meaningful relationships, sharing knowledge and promoting confidence in the activities and opportunities families can easily provide for their children inside and outside the home.

The impact of the Toolkit and Principles into Practice training, is already being evidenced within Kent settings where reference to the work is being recorded in Ofsted Reports:

‘A well-established programme of professional development helps staff to improve their knowledge, understanding and practice. For instance, staff recently attended training in enhancing family involvement in children's learning. From this, staff have devised a project to build on this at the setting’  Ofsted May 2016, Canterbury Day Nursery, Holiday Playscheme and ASC

Additionally we are pleased to be able to tell you that EFICL has also been shortlisted for the Children and Young People’s Awards in November …watch this space!
