On 26th September over 40 nursery practitioners gathered at the Threads of Success Improvement and Achievement Award ceremony in Maidstone. The group represented 9 early years and childcare settings who have achieved the prestigious Kent award. Gillian Cawley, Director Education, Quality and Standards in Kent County Council presented the awards.
Threads of Success Improvement and Achievement Award is a quality improvement scheme that enables practitioners to evaluate and reflect on their own practice to bring about quality continuous improvement in their own setting and thus improve the life chances of Kent’s youngest children.
The scheme allows teams to reflect on their own practice using action research and a variety of audit tools which supports them to prioritise and embed changes that directly impact on children’s learning and development. This year the wide range of research projects covered areas such as: improving the outdoors, maths, transitions, ICT, language and communication.
The contribution of high quality early years experiences is critical to ensure the best outcomes for children as they reach the end of their Reception year in school and develop their readiness as lifelong learners.
Congratulations to all of those gaining the award this year by demonstrating high quality practice so that every child makes good progress to fulfil their potential.
